NTPC, India’s leading integrated power utility, reports a remarkable upsurge in coal dispatch and production, marking substantial growth and robust operational performance in FY 2023-24.
NTPC has achieved exceptional growth in coal dispatch from its captive mines, boasting a staggering 90 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year. The company achieved an impressive coal dispatch milestone, reaching 23.12 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) by November-end in FY24, compared to 12.17 MMT in FY23, highlighting a significant upward trajectory in coal supply.
Moreover, NTPC reported a commendable coal production of 22.08 MMT by November-end in FY24, indicating an 80 percent surge over the same period in the previous fiscal year. This robust performance underscores NTPC’s unwavering dedication to enhancing coal production and ensuring a steady and efficient supply to fulfill the nation’s energy demands.
NTPC’s cumulative coal production from its operational captive coal mines — Pakri Barwadih & Chatti-Bariatu Coal Mines in Jharkhand, Dulanga Coal Mine in Odisha, and Talaipalli Coal Mine in Chhattisgarh — has crossed the 91 MMT mark.
