Viridian Energy founder and CEO Michael Fallquist and general counsel Jan Fox
have been appointed to co-chair the National Energy Marketers (NEM) Consumer
Rights and Marketer Code of Conduct Committee.

NEM is a
national, non-profit trade association representing wholesale and retail
marketers of natural gas and electricity. Fallquist and Fox will serve the committee
that handles policy related issues in the consumer marketing and consumer bill
of rights segment of the energy market.

“We are
honored to be given the opportunity to serve as co-chairs with our peers in the
energy industry to help steer policy in the marketing of consumer energy. We
intend to be a voice for the consumer in matters of policy to continue to
ensure that energy options become and remain available to all consumers. I’d
like to personally thank the leadership at NEM for extending this opportunity,”
said Fallquist.

NEM
Association members participate in advocacy for policy development on regional,
state and national levels. NEM members are recognized leaders in their areas;
Viridian Energy provides greener electricity at an affordable price, allowing
people to make a difference in the environment and their personal lives simply
by switching energy providers.

“I’m proud
to be a part of developing a code of conduct for the industry. I look forward
to working with other suppliers to insure we’re all running our businesses in a
way that is ethical and raises the profile of the industry in both consumers’
and regulators’ eyes,” said Fox.

Recently,
Viridian Energy completed
the inaugural sustainability project the Viridian Foundation, to foster global
sustainability and extend Viridian’s global efforts beyond the scope of its
existing sustainability initiatives.
