Telkonet’s EcoSmart technology installed in colleges

Telkonet, announced that their EcoSmart Energy Management System featuring EcoCentral Virtual Engineer has been installed in Johnson Hall of Culver-Stockton College.

It offers an array of convenient features, including EcoSmart device control, cloud-based data back-up and the ability to process data into actionable usable reports.

This EcoSmart energy management system helps to reduce energy consumption and runtime of equipment by 20-40 percent.

Culver-Stockton College, located in Canton, MO, installed EcoSmart technology as part of the $3.9 million of energy-solution improvements that will allow them to save $368,000 annually in utility costs.

Since 2008, EcoSmart energy management solutions, including EcoWave and EcoInsight intelligent thermostats and EcoView, occupancy sensor, have been installed in approximately 10,000 student residences among institutions of higher education.

This efficient system will manage cost savings in energy usage; which will positively impact the bottom line, stated, Chad Burow, director, Sales and Marketing, Telkonet.

The EcoCentral Virtual Engineer permits Telkonet team the facility to monitor cost savings. It communicates with EcoSmart intelligent wireless thermostats, occupancy sensors, door and window contacts, outlets and light switches.

In addition, the EcoWave package is a revolutionary wireless thermostat and control system; and the EcoView is in-room occupancy sensor that checks whether the room is unoccupied.

Crowne Plaza, the popular hotel in New York has installed EcoSmart in all 795 guestrooms. The Crowne Plaza replaced existing thermostats with Telkonet’s ZigBee-enabled EcoWave thermostat package, which include an EcoAir display thermostat and an EcoSource HVAC control unit, balancing energy efficiency with comfort.
