Greentech Lead America: GE Lighting Solutions has
unveiled new Immersion RH20 LED lighting system for horizontal refrigerated
display cases. The system will assist in saving 77 percent energy for grocery,
convenience and specialty retailers across all of their stores.
The company claims this is the most advanced,
energy-efficient solution in the horizontal LED refrigeration category to date.
By deploying energy-saving Immersion RH20 LED lighting
solutions for T12 high-output fluorescent tubes, retailers can reduce energy
consumption in horizontal refrigerated display cases by up to 77 percent and
curb environmental impact by cutting CO2 emissions from power production.
A retail chain could save more than $100,000 in energy
costs per year, by switching 10 eight-foot refrigerated cases that operate the
lights 18 hours per day from traditional 32-watt linear fluorescent T8 tubes to
Immersion RH20 LED lighting systems across 50 stores.
“Since GE created the world’s first LED lighting solution
for refrigerated cases in 2004, the technology has continued to evolve into the
incredibly efficient, high-performing Immersion RH20 LED system we offer
today,” said Eric Stevenson, general manager, Specialty Lighting, GE Lighting Solutions.
Immersion RH20 LED lights are designed to make food look
its best with an 80-plus color rendering index. To draw the customers’
attention to products that matter most to retailers, adjustable clips allow
retailers to easily rotate the LED light fixture, angling light directly onto
foods.
The Immersion RH20 LED solution is available in multiple
lengths (24″ 36″ and 48″), in warm and cool color temperatures
(3000K, 4000K and 5000K) and designed for both canopy and undershelf
applications to give retailers the flexibility needed to tailor lighting to
complement any display.
The technologically advanced lighting system is rated to
perform for up to 50,000 hours and also backed with the GE Six Sigma Quality
methodology, where products undergo meticulous in-house and independent testing
on the LED, sub-system and complete system to provide ultimate performance that
retailers can trust for the long haul.
Immersion RH20 LED systems are much easier to dispose as
the systems do not contain the mercury, lead or glass that exists in
traditional lighting options. As a result, maintenance and material waste and
costs are significantly diminished, while unsightly burnouts are reduced.
Recently, GE announced that it is launching
new products and solutions to its suite of Brillion home energy
solutions.
