Noribachi completes LED retrofit project forTSA

Noribachi and Intelligent Energy Light and Power have announced the completion of the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) Headquarters Energy Efficient Project.

The TSA HQ Energy Efficiency Project was a 3-year, 4-phase sustainability project, which focused on LED light installation in its huge building including a 2-level parking garage.

This installation provided by Noribachi is one of the largest LED retrofit projects of an existing building in the U.S.

Currently, company is planning to save $550,000 in 2014 electrical expenses which exceeded the $.08/kWh government energy use rate. In addition, the cost evading in replacement lamps and ballast parts will be over $40,000 this year.

The project formed $1.08 per building sq. ft. in total savings with a 31 percent reduction in consumption using several different efficiency technologies, stated, John Holloway, director, Real Estate and Facilities, TSA.

TSA HQ has achieved an Energy Star rating, a LEED Silver rating and a Green Innovation Dept. Homeland Security award for this project. In addition, this efficiency retrofit project was completed on a 29-year-old building.

The project demonstrates that cost avoidances can be captured through careful planning of new energy efficiency technologies in older buildings, commented, Steve Gerber, president, Intelligent Energy Light and Power.

Intelligent Energy Light and Power partnered for installing LED retrofits for 6,300 interior fluorescent fixtures and 400 exterior high intensity discharge fixtures. In addition, LED retrofits and occupancy sensors were installed throughout the parking garage.
