Vikram Solar’s PowerHive Launches 125 kW / 261 kWh Liquid-Cooled BESS
Vikram Solar subsidiary VSL PowerHive has launched its first official commercial battery-storage product, the P261, targeting industrial and commercial users in India and international markets. The liquid-cooled system combines 125 kW of power with 261 kWh of storage in a single cabinet. It uses 314 Ah LFP cells, operates at a nominal 832 volts, and is designed for temperatures ranging from minus 30°C to 50°C. The system carries an IP52S rating and includes integrated energy-management software, real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, fire suppression and multiple layers of electrical and thermal protection. Applications include solar-energy shifting, peak-demand management, backup power, diesel-generator reduction, EV charging and microgrids. The architecture is expandable as customer storage requirements grow.
Lead Intelligent’s Battery Production Platform Targets 300 Ah to 1,000 Ah Storage Cells
Lead Intelligent has introduced an integrated manufacturing line for next-generation large-format energy-storage cells ranging from 300 Ah to more than 1,000 Ah. The system reduces production-floor requirements by 20 percent, cuts the number of equipment units by 20 percent and lowers individual cell-handling operations by 43 percent. Lead says first-pass welding yield reaches at least 99.5 percent, while final production yield exceeds 99.9 percent. Overall Equipment Effectiveness is above 80 percent, with critical manufacturing areas reaching ISO Class 5 cleanliness. The platform covers hot pressing, X-ray inspection, ultrasonic and laser welding, cell pairing and helium-leak testing. Lead says it has already secured more than 600 GWh of cumulative orders for energy-storage production lines, providing significant scale for future factory deployments.
STL Moves Four Indian Manufacturing Plants to 100 Percent Wind and Solar Power
Sterlite Technologies, or STL, has transitioned four manufacturing plants in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, to electricity sourced from 100 percent renewable wind and solar generation. The company is also moving toward 100 percent green hydrogen manufacturing in India as part of its decarbonisation strategy. STL says the carbon footprint of its G.657.A2 optical fibre has fallen by approximately 80 percent, from 4.7 kg to 0.9 kg, illustrating the impact of renewable electricity and manufacturing changes on product-level emissions. The initiative is particularly relevant as telecom networks, AI infrastructure and data centers increasingly scrutinize embedded carbon across fibre and connectivity supply chains. STL supplies optical and digital infrastructure products globally and is using renewable-power procurement to lower the emissions intensity of manufacturing rather than relying solely on offsets.
Eos Consolidates Pennsylvania Battery Manufacturing at 4 GWh Thorn Hill Factory Eos Energy Enterprises will consolidate battery manufacturing at its 432,000-square-foot Thorn Hill facility in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, which began commercial production in June 2026, less than six months after the company entered the site. Once two manufacturing lines are operating, Thorn Hill is expected to provide approximately 4 GWh of annual nameplate capacity for Eos’ zinc-based long-duration energy-storage systems. Cube assembly, testing and shipping will remain at Turtle Creek. Eos expects consolidation to reduce battery conversion costs by about 10–15 percent beginning in 2027 while maintaining customer deliveries. The company recently reported a backlog of approximately $807 million and continues expanding U.S.-based production as utilities and renewable developers seek alternatives to lithium-ion systems for longer-duration storage applications.
