R.Power Advances 100 MW/200 MWh Studina Battery Project in Romania
Polish renewable-energy producer R.Power has appointed a contractor for its 100 MW/200 MWh Studina battery energy storage project in Olt County, Romania. The contractor will execute balance-of-plant works and high-voltage grid connection infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026, with grid connection targeted for the third quarter of 2027. Studina will become R.Power’s second large-scale battery installation in Romania, following its separate 127 MW/254 MWh Scornicesti project. Across Central and Eastern Europe, R.Power reports approximately 900 MW/3 GWh of storage assets operating or under construction. It also has 700 MW/2.8 GWh of commercialised, ready-to-build battery projects. Investment costs were not disclosed.
Wartsila Wins 35 MW/70 MWh Battery Storage and Grid Management Contract in Aruba
Finnish technology company Wartsila has signed an agreement with Water- en Energiebedrijf Aruba to deliver a 35 MW/70 MWh battery energy storage system for the Caribbean island. The contract covers engineering, procurement, construction, energy management software and long-term maintenance services. Wärtsilä’s energy management system will coordinate battery operation with Aruba’s existing wind, solar and conventional generation assets. The order was booked during the third quarter of 2026, with final handover scheduled for the second quarter of 2028. The project represents Wärtsilä’s largest battery installation in the Caribbean by both power and energy capacity. The company previously supplied equipment for five Aruba power projects totalling 230 MW. Contract value was undisclosed.
Enery Commissions 37 MWp Stella Solar Farm in Czech Republic
Austrian renewable-energy producer Enery has inaugurated the 37 MWp Stella photovoltaic project in Dynín, South Bohemia, Czech Republic. The facility comprises 51,636 bifacial solar modules mounted on single-axis tracking systems. Annual electricity generation is estimated at 47.2 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 15,700 households. Automotive components manufacturer Benteler will purchase renewable electricity under a long-term power purchase agreement. The project was developed and constructed without investment subsidies. Stella is Enery’s first Czech solar installation developed and built entirely by the company. The facility occupies approximately 50 hectares, with local reporting indicating investment exceeding CZK 500 million. Enery operates across Central and Eastern European renewable-energy markets.
