NLC India Renewables Wins 265 MW / 530 MWh Haryana Battery Storage Project
NLC India subsidiary NLC India Renewables has secured a 265 MW/530 MWh standalone battery energy storage project in Haryana through a competitive tender conducted by SJVN. The two-hour BESS was awarded at a tariff of ₹2.35 lakh per MW per month and will provide storage capacity to Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. The project will be developed under India’s growing programme of utility-scale battery procurement designed to improve grid flexibility and accommodate larger volumes of variable solar and wind generation. The award gives NLC India Renewables another significant position in energy storage as the state-owned group expands beyond conventional generation into renewable power and grid-scale batteries.
NTPC Green Energy Starts Commercial Operation of 81.34 MW Bikaner Solar Capacity
NTPC Green Energy has declared commercial operation of the first 81.34 MW portion of its Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, effective September 26, 2026. The capacity forms part of a larger 650 MW solar component being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy under a 500 MW round-the-clock renewable-energy project for REMCL. Following commissioning of the latest capacity, NTPC Green Energy group’s commercial operating capacity increased from 10,977.23 MW to 11,058.57 MW. The milestone represents physical generation capacity entering service rather than a project award or development proposal, expanding NTPC’s operating renewable portfolio as it pursues significantly larger solar, wind and storage deployment across India.
