The latest renewable energy news includes announcements from MSEDCL, Advait Energy, CleanMax, RWE, HiTHIUM, and others.
MSEDCL Launches 1,000 MW / 4,000 MWh Battery Tender with 2,000 MWh Green Shoe
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company has launched procurement for 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh of battery energy storage, with a green-shoe option covering another 500 MW/2,000 MWh. Exercising the full option would take the procurement to 1.5 GW/6 GWh. Developers will build, own and operate the batteries and provide storage services to MSEDCL under five-year contracts. Individual bids must cover at least 100 MW/400 MWh. MSEDCL plans to charge the batteries primarily during solar-generation hours and dispatch stored electricity between 5 PM and 7 AM, helping shift renewable electricity into evening and overnight demand periods. Developers will be responsible for grid connectivity and associated infrastructure. Bids are due in early October.
Advait Energy Signs 1 GWh Battery Cell Supply Agreement with HiTHIUM
Advait Energy Transitions has signed a framework agreement with battery manufacturer HiTHIUM covering 1 GWh of energy-storage cells. The supply arrangement supports Advait’s expansion into domestic battery energy storage systems and provides a defined cell pipeline for its planned manufacturing activities. Ahmedabad-based Advait is developing a 2.5 GWh annual-capacity battery energy storage manufacturing facility as it expands beyond power-transmission infrastructure into storage, green hydrogen, electrolysers and fuel cells. Access to large volumes of battery cells is critical for assembling grid-scale storage systems as India’s utility and commercial BESS market expands rapidly. The agreement provides Advait with a technology and supply partner for scaling its energy-storage manufacturing business.
CleanMax Raises ₹2,500 Crore Through Green Bond Issue
CleanMax has raised ₹2,500 crore through privately placed green non-convertible debentures, providing substantial new debt capital for its renewable-energy platform. The securities were issued across five series, with maturities ranging from two to ten years and fixed coupons between 8.25 percent and 8.76 percent. The financing attracted domestic and international institutional investors. CleanMax develops renewable-energy projects primarily for commercial and industrial customers, using long-term power arrangements to supply corporations with solar, wind and hybrid electricity. The ₹2,500 crore transaction gives the company additional long-duration financing as it expands its project portfolio and represents one of the more substantial recent green-debt raises by an Indian C&I renewable-energy company.
RWE Commissions 11 MWp Sinntal Solar Farm in Germany
RWE has commissioned its first solar farm in the German state of Hesse, adding 11 MWp/9.5 MWac of photovoltaic capacity at Sinntal. The project comprises approximately 17,450 bifacial solar modules installed across around 10 hectares. RWE estimates annual production will be sufficient to cover electricity consumption equivalent to approximately 3,000 households. The company will also pay the Sinntal municipality €0.002 for every kilowatt-hour generated, potentially providing local revenue of as much as €24,000 annually. RWE currently operates approximately 960 MW of onshore wind and solar capacity in Germany and is expanding both technologies as part of its broader European renewable-generation portfolio.
