Victoria Signs 10-Year Power Agreement for 102 MW Solar Farm and Planned Four-Hour Battery

Victoria’s State Electricity Commission has signed a 10-year electricity offtake agreement with Pacific Partnerships covering the operational Glenrowan Solar Farm and a planned battery storage expansion. Announced November 2, the existing solar facility has approximately 102 MW of grid-connected capacity. The proposed battery will provide 102 MW of discharge power and approximately 400 MWh of storage. The agreement replaces an earlier solar-only electricity purchase arrangement and extends commercial support to the battery development. The commission will receive approximately 65 percent of the battery’s output. The storage project has planning approval but remains subject to financial close and construction. Commercial operation is targeted for 2028.

Entergy Proposes $550.6 Million Investment in 350 MW/1,400 MWh Battery Storage Projects in Arkansas

Entergy has requested regulatory approval for two battery storage projects in Arkansas with combined capacity of 350 MW/1,400 MWh. Filed October 29, the proposal includes the 250 MW/1,000 MWh Driver battery in Mississippi County and 100 MW/400 MWh Jones Mill battery in Hot Spring County. Estimated investment totals $550.6 million, comprising $389.4 million for Driver and $161.2 million for Jones Mill. Both facilities are designed for four-hour electricity discharge. The projects form part of Entergy’s electricity infrastructure arrangements supporting Google’s expanding West Memphis data-centre operations. Entergy expects Google-related payments to cover the projects’ revenue requirements. Commercial operation is targeted for June 2028, subject to regulatory and interconnection approvals.

Uniper Signs Seven-Year Tolling Agreement for 20 MW/42 MWh Battery Storage Project in Germany

German energy company Uniper has signed a seven-year battery storage tolling agreement with Stadtwerke Lippstadt for a planned 20 MW/42 MWh facility in Germany. Announced October 30, the project will be developed at the Roßfeld site. The battery will be owned by Lippstädter Ladesäulen, a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Lippstadt. Uniper will receive dispatch rights and responsibility for electricity market trading and commercial optimisation, while the owner receives fixed remuneration. The project will use lithium iron phosphate battery technology supplied by VENSYS Elektrotechnik, which will also provide maintenance services. Commissioning is scheduled for summer 2027. The agreement expands an existing electricity trading relationship into battery storage operations.
