Boom Power Wins UK Approval for 238 MW Fenwick Solar Farm
Boom Power has secured a UK Development Consent Order for its 238 MW Fenwick solar farm in South Yorkshire, clearing one of the project’s most important regulatory hurdles. The approval allows the nationally significant solar development to advance toward financing, procurement and construction. At 238 MW, Fenwick would be substantially larger than conventional sub-50 MW UK solar projects and represents the growing scale of Britain’s photovoltaic market. Large solar developments are becoming increasingly important to the UK’s clean-power strategy alongside offshore wind and battery storage. Development consent materially reduces planning risk, although Boom Power must still complete remaining commercial and construction preparations before generation begins. Bagnall Energy Agrees £175 Million Takeover of Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust
Bagnall Energy has agreed to acquire Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust in a transaction valuing DORE at approximately £175 million. Bagnall is already DORE’s largest shareholder, making the transaction a significant consolidation move in listed renewable infrastructure. DORE invests in renewable-energy and infrastructure assets, giving the buyer exposure to operating projects rather than early-stage developments. The £175 million transaction value makes the deal more significant than a routine portfolio adjustment and illustrates continuing consolidation among renewable investment vehicles as investors reassess valuations, financing costs and routes to capital. Completion would place DORE’s portfolio under a concentrated ownership structure and potentially provide greater flexibility for future investment, asset sales or capital deployment across renewable infrastructure.
RWE Awards Njord Survey Three-Year Offshore Wind Services Framework
Njord Survey has secured a three-year framework agreement with RWE Offshore Wind covering remotely operated vehicle services across offshore wind projects. The contract gives RWE access to subsea inspection and survey capabilities required during development, construction and operation of offshore wind farms. ROV services are used to inspect subsea cables, foundations, seabed infrastructure and other underwater assets, making them increasingly important as offshore projects move farther from shore and into deeper waters. RWE has one of Europe’s largest offshore wind development and construction pipelines, so a multi-year framework creates a potentially meaningful workload for Njord. The agreement also highlights growing investment in the specialist marine-services supply chain supporting the expanding global offshore wind fleet.
