360Energy Commissions 13.4 MW Solar Farm in Brazil, Expanding Beyond Argentina
Argentine renewable-energy developer 360Energy has commissioned its first international photovoltaic project, the 13.4 MW PSF 360E Porto Real solar farm in Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. The commissioning was reported October 21, following regulatory authorisation earlier in October. Built on approximately 21 hectares, the facility is expected to generate 25 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to consumption by more than 10,000 Brazilian households. The project was developed in cooperation with an industrial partner. Automotive manufacturer Stellantis owns a 49.5 percent stake in 360Energy. The company is developing three additional Brazilian solar projects—Goiana, Goiana II and Betim—as part of its international expansion strategy. Investment value and electricity contract terms were not disclosed.
Acciona Energia Commissions 72 MW Wind Farms in Croatia with 12-Year Electricity Contracts
Spanish renewable-energy producer Acciona Energía has started commercial operation of two wind farms in Croatia with combined capacity of 72 MW. Announced October 19, the projects comprise the 27 MW Opor wind farm and the 45 MW Boraja II facility. Both installations use Nordex turbines rated at 4.5 MW. The projects are supported by 12-year Contracts for Difference awarded through Croatia’s renewable-energy procurement programme. Combined annual generation is estimated at 203 GWh, with approximately 135,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions avoided annually. Construction supported up to 400 direct jobs. The commissioning increases Acciona’s operational wind capacity in Croatia to 102 MW. The company is also constructing the 189 MWp Promina solar project.
Eurus Energy and Tohoku Electric Start Construction of 33.6 MW Wind Farm in Japan
Japanese renewable-energy companies Eurus Energy Holdings and Tohoku Electric Power have started construction of the 33.6 MW Fukui Kunimi Wind Farm in Fukui Prefecture. The project commenced construction on September 28 and was formally announced October 21. It will feature nine Vestas wind turbines rated at 4.2 MW each, with the facility’s grid connection capacity set at 33.6 MW. Toda Corporation is responsible for engineering, procurement and construction. The project company is owned equally by Eurus Energy and Tohoku Electric. Commercial operation is scheduled for March 2029. Annual electricity generation is expected to cover consumption by approximately 24,000 households, while avoiding around 35,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
