California Water Service Signs Solar Deal with EDP Renewables Unit

California Water Service (Cal Water) has partnered with EDP Renewables North America Distributed Generation (EDPR NA DG) to install on-site solar power at its locations. The agreement covers eight solar PV projects across Cal Water’s service areas, which will supply clean energy directly to water treatment and delivery operations. This initiative supports Cal Water’s sustainability and cost-efficiency goals, aligning with California’s clean energy mandates. The systems will be built, owned, and operated by EDPR NA DG, with Cal Water purchasing the electricity under long-term agreements. Key benefits include reduced greenhouse gas emissions, long-term utility savings, and enhanced energy resilience. The partnership reflects a growing trend of utilities adopting behind-the-meter renewable solutions to meet operational and environmental objectives.

Acciona Energia Commissions 86 MWp Ayora Solar Complex in Spain

Acciona Energia has commissioned the 86 MWp Ayora solar farm complex in Valencia, Spain. The project comprises four individual photovoltaic plants and is expected to generate 156 GWh of clean electricity annually — enough to power around 47,000 homes and avoid 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year. It aligns with Acciona’s strategy to expand its renewable energy footprint in Spain and support national decarbonization targets. The complex integrates advanced solar technologies for optimal efficiency and grid integration. Local job creation and environmental restoration efforts have also been part of the project rollout. Benefits include increased clean energy supply, lower emissions, regional economic stimulation, and progress toward Spain’s 2030 renewable energy goals.

Sunisus Acquires 200 MW Solar Pipeline from Sharp in Germany

German renewables firm Sunisus has taken over a 200 MW pipeline of solar PV projects from Sharp Energy Solutions Europe. The acquired projects are located across Germany and are at various stages of development. This move aligns with Sunisus’ strategy to rapidly scale its solar footprint and contribute to Germany’s energy transition. The transaction strengthens Sunisus’ project portfolio and supports its goal of deploying clean, utility-scale solar power across the country. Sharp will continue to support Sunisus through technical know-how and experience in PV systems. Benefits of the deal include faster deployment of solar capacity, enhanced energy independence for Germany, reduced emissions, and increased market participation by emerging clean energy developers like Sunisus.
