TEPCO Commits Funds for Rooftop Solar Venture in Singapore

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has agreed to invest in a rooftop solar partnership in Singapore with local firm Sunseap Group, a subsidiary of EDP Renewables. The partnership involves funding rooftop solar projects for commercial and industrial clients across Singapore. TEPCO will participate through its subsidiary, TEPCO Renewable Power. The agreement supports TEPCO’s international renewable energy expansion strategy. Sunseap will lead project development and operations.

Salzgitter Launches Tenders for 150-MWp Solar PPA and Battery System

Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH has launched two tenders to procure solar power and battery storage for its steel production site in Germany. The company seeks a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 150 MWp of solar capacity and a battery storage system with at least 50 MW power and 100 MWh energy capacity. The aim is to support low-emission steel production. Both systems must be connected to the national grid and dedicated to the Salzgitter site. The tenders are part of Salzgitter AG’s broader energy transition strategy. Submission deadline is July 12, 2025.

Elawan Secures BBVA Loan for 30MW Wind Project in Mexico

Elawan Energy has obtained financing from BBVA Mexico for a 30MW wind power project located in Zacatecas, Mexico. The project includes five wind turbines and is expected to supply electricity under a long-term power purchase agreement. The financing arrangement supports Elawan’s efforts to expand its renewable energy presence in Mexico. The company did not disclose financial details of the loan. This project follows Elawan’s broader strategy to increase clean energy capacity in the region through wind and solar developments.

J-Power Starts Construction of 51-MW Wind Farm in Oita, Japan

J-Power has begun construction of a 51-MW wind power project in Oita Prefecture, Japan. The Minami Oita Wind Farm will consist of 13 turbines, each with a capacity of 3.9 MW, supplied by GE Vernova. The project is being developed by Minami Oita Wind Farm, a subsidiary of J-Power. The facility is expected to start operations in March 2027. This project contributes to Japan’s plan to expand renewable energy capacity and cut emissions under its long-term energy strategy.
