Orsted Completes Final Foundation at Greater Changhua 2b Wind Farm

Orsted has completed installation of the final suction bucket jacket foundation at the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b offshore wind farm in Taiwan. Located 35–60 km offshore, the project uses 66 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW turbines — the largest deployed in the Taiwan Strait. It will be the first in Taiwan to connect via a 345kV high-voltage system, boosting transmission efficiency. Awarded in 2018, the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 projects aim for full grid connection in 2026, marking a major step in Taiwan’s renewable energy development and Orsted’s global clean energy mission.

TotalEnergies Launches 263 MW Solar Project in Spain

TotalEnergies has launched a 263 MW solar project in Guillena, Andalusia, consisting of five photovoltaic plants: Postigo (51 MW), Arbotante (52 MW), Pilastra (52 MW), La Noria (53 MW), and La Carrascosa (55 MW). The project uses about 400,000 bifacial panels and will produce around 515 GWh of electricity each year — enough to supply 150,000 homes and reduce CO₂ emissions by 140,000 tonnes annually. The €200 million project created over 800 jobs and aligns with TotalEnergies’ plan to reach 35 GW in renewable capacity by the end of 2025.

Boralex Secures REC Deal for 450 MW New York Solar Projects

Boralex has signed a Renewable Energy Standard Agreement (RESA) with NYSERDA for its 450 MW Fort Covington and Two Rivers solar projects in New York. The Fort Covington project includes a 250 MW solar farm and a 77 MW battery storage system, developed with Savion. These projects are part of five solar farms totaling 540 MW and 77 MW of storage capacity. Expected annual generation is over 1 TWh, supplying over 141,200 homes. The deal includes Tier-1 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), supporting New York’s renewable energy targets.

RES Submits Application for 66 MW Mullaghclogher Wind Farm in Northern Ireland

UK-based renewable energy company RES has filed a planning application for the 66 MW Mullaghclogher Wind Farm in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The proposed project includes 11 wind turbines and associated infrastructure. If approved, the wind farm is expected to contribute significantly to Northern Ireland’s renewable energy targets and support local economic development. RES emphasizes community engagement and environmental stewardship in its project planning. The application is currently under review by the relevant planning authorities.

Soluna Launches 75 MW Solar-Powered Data Centre in Texas

Soluna Holdings Inc has launched its first solar-powered data centre project in Texas, with a capacity of 75 MW. The facility is designed to run entirely on solar energy, aiming to meet the energy requirements of data processing while limiting reliance on non-renewable sources. The project supports Soluna’s model of combining renewable power with computing operations. It also contributes to reducing grid congestion by using power during off-peak periods. This move aligns with increasing demand for energy-efficient data infrastructure and the integration of renewable energy into large-scale computing operations.
