Linea Energy Secures Tax Equity Financing for 172 MWdc Michigan Solar Project

Linea Energy and Crux have closed tax equity financing for the 172 MWdc Watertown solar project in Sanilac County, Michigan, completing the project’s commercialization. The latest investment follows Linea’s previously announced $299 million project debt financing package, bringing the total capital raised for the project to $457 million. Watertown will operate under a 25-year power purchase agreement and is expected to supply clean electricity to more than 25,000 Michigan homes. Construction is projected to create approximately 150 jobs while generating about $16.4 million in local property tax revenue over the next 20 years.

Envision Energy Partners with Pulse Clean Energy on 310 MWh UK Battery Storage Project

Envision Energy has partnered with Pulse Clean Energy to deploy a 129 MW / 310 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, marking a major milestone for its Future Energy Systems business in the UK. Originally designed as a 2-hour storage system, Envision optimized the project to deliver 2.4 hours of energy storage using its Gen 7 BESS platform with AI-powered energy management and grid-forming capabilities. The project will enhance grid flexibility, improve renewable energy integration, and strengthen the UK’s low-carbon electricity infrastructure while supporting future energy storage deployment.

ComEd Commissions Two 345 kV Substations to Add 550 MW Wind Energy Capacity in Illinois

ComEd has energized two new 345 kV transmission substations in LaSalle and Woodford counties, enabling the integration of up to 550 MW of new wind power into Illinois’ electricity grid. The substations will support the 150 MW Osagrove Flats wind farm and the 400 MW Panther Grove wind farm, scheduled to begin commercial operations in late 2026 and early 2027, respectively. Together, the projects can generate enough renewable electricity to power around 264,000 homes annually. The expansion strengthens grid reliability while increasing renewable energy supply across the PJM market, which serves 65 million people across 13 states and the District of Columbia. ComEd has already connected more than 1.7 GW of distributed energy resources in Illinois.
