Amazon Contracts Nearly 200 MW From Four Swedish Wind Farms
Amazon has signed power purchase agreements covering almost 200 MW of onshore wind capacity in Sweden, adding four wind projects developed by OX2 and Eolus to its renewable-energy procurement portfolio. The agreements provide the wind farms with long-term corporate offtake while supplying renewable electricity for Amazon’s operations across the Nordic market. The transaction is particularly significant for Swedish wind developers as corporate PPAs can provide predictable revenue in a market exposed to volatile wholesale electricity prices. Amazon remains one of the world’s largest corporate renewable-energy buyers, using long-duration solar and wind agreements to support electricity demand from cloud infrastructure, fulfilment operations and other facilities. The latest contracts strengthen its Scandinavian renewable-power sourcing while supporting construction and financing certainty for Swedish onshore wind assets.
Brookfield’s Lumara Awards Axis Energy EPC Work for 400 MW Andhra Pradesh Solar Project
Brookfield-backed Lumara Energy and Axis Energy are developing a 400 MW utility-scale solar project at Nandipadu in Andhra Pradesh, with Axis responsible for the complete engineering, procurement and construction scope. The project will include a 400-kV pooling substation and 400-kV transmission line linking the plant to the Kurnool-III CTUIL substation, enabling power evacuation into India’s national grid. Commissioning is targeted during 2027. The contract adds another sizeable project to India’s rapidly expanding utility-scale solar pipeline and strengthens Axis Energy’s role across renewable development, EPC, transmission and balance-of-plant infrastructure. Lumara was launched by Brookfield as an Indian renewable-energy platform, giving the 400 MW development institutional backing alongside local engineering and execution capabilities.
Nala Renewables Starts 50 MW / 100 MWh Battery in Finland Nala Renewables has brought its 50 MW / 100 MWh Kauhava battery energy storage system in Finland into operation, marking a major milestone in the company’s Nordic storage strategy. The project uses Sungrow battery technology, while Finnish contractor KSBR handled construction, the grid connection, substation and associated civil and electrical works. Nala acquired the project from Fu-Gen in January 2025 and subsequently expanded its Finnish pipeline through the acquisition of more than 250 MW across four additional sites, taking its country’s portfolio beyond 300 MW. The two-hour Kauhava battery will participate in Finland’s electricity and ancillary-services markets, providing flexibility as wind generation increases. Battery storage is becoming increasingly important for managing Nordic power-price volatility and balancing renewable electricity production.
