ZAP, an Electric Vehicle automotive company in California and its subsidiary Jonway Auto has entered into a deal for volume purchase with Guangzhou WuYang Motors, the EV motorcycle group in Southern China.
ZAP and Jonway Auto are planning to launch edited version of Urbees with new partners like Guangzhou WuYang.
Under this partnership, Guangzhou WuYang with Jonway has provided the fund for the new models which will be manufactured at Jonway Auto’s factory and shipped to WuYang’s dealerships.
As per the contract rules ZAP entered with Guangzhou WuYang, the target will be nearly 6000 EVs within next year, aiming US$20 million in total revenues.
Initially, Companies are targeting 500 EVs per month which will increase to more than 1,000 per month.
The Urbee EV can be driven in narrow lanes, with a maximum speed of 70kph, with a range of over 200km between charges.
The Urbee EV is observed as an ideal transportation in the suburbs of the major cities, where owners could use them for commuting and transporting children to school.
