PlugShare joins hands with Nissan for EV charging promotion

Recargo has announced that PlugShare, a method to find and use electric vehicle (EV) charging services, is now an official app for finding Nissan’s EV chargers with “No Charge To Charge” promotion.

Introduced as part of the “No Charge To Charge” program, a new filter equipped within the PlugShare app and PlugShare.com directs to an easy access for Nissan LEAF drivers to locate charging stations.

Through this program, for two years, no-cost will be charged in selected market areas when a new Nissan LEAF is purchased or taken on lease.

Brian Kariger, CEO, Recargo, said, “PlugShare is considered as the trusted charging guide for ‘No Charge to Charge,’ and hence we are making it simple for Nissan LEAF drivers to find their free charging stations. Nissan’s commitment to bringing together infrastructure partners is a prime example for others in the industry to follow.”

Generally, sales of plug-in vehicles along with As Nissan LEAF have grown worldwide. The PlugShare, serves more than 100,000 active, engaged drivers using the app to locate and clear payments at charging stations.

In addition, they can also share the experiences by rating the location, adding photos, tips and messaging to be a part of “sharing the plug” at busy stations.

This “No Charge to Charge” program newly introduced by Nissan is now active in 10 markets across the US including San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston and Washington, D.C and many more.

In another development, Nissan has announced the Aug. 15 launch of this program in Los Angeles too.

Providing two years of free charging at more than 2,600 stations available in the initial markets, including more than 200 quick chargers, LEAF drivers are experiencing the “range confidence” with this EV free charging facility.
