Chargie awarded $9.3 million in grants from the California Energy Commission’s REACH 2.0 program to install over 1,000 Level 2 EV charging stations across nearly 50 residential communities in Northern and Southern California.
Focus on disadvantaged communities: Over 90 percent of the charging stations will be installed in low-income and disadvantaged communities, supporting equitable access to EV charging infrastructure.
Part of California’s Clean Transportation Program: The grants aim to contribute to statewide climate goals by expanding EV charging infrastructure and promoting electrified mobility, especially for residents of multi-family housing.
Widespread installations: Chargie’s deployment includes locations in Los Angeles, Inglewood, San Jose, Oakland, and South San Francisco, offering affordable, reliable, and convenient EV charging solutions.
Comprehensive project scope: Chargie will handle community engagement, design, installation, and ongoing 24/7 monitoring to ensure high availability, with remote troubleshooting via a networked operations center.
