Car Charging Group, operator and provider of electric vehicle charging services, announced their partnership with City of Knoxville, Tennesse, for the operation and maintenance of Blink EV charging stations.
The charging stations were incorporated for Department of Energy’s EV project for which ECOtality, former Blink assets owner, was the Project Manager.
CarCharging will own and operate 14 EV charging stations of Blink. From July 1, 2014 onwards, Blink’s current charging fees of $1.00 per hour for members and $2.00 per hour for guests will also be applied to these stations.
Erin Gill, director of sustainability, City of Knoxville, said, “These stations are the infrastructure necessary to support the use of vehicles that consume less energy and produce fewer emissions. CarCharging has trusted us with operation and maintenance of the Blink electric car charging stations.”
Michael D. Farkas, founder and CEO, CarCharging, said, “With the various new business models that are available and the enhancement made to the Blink Network, it is confirmed that we can provide Blink hosts and members with exceptional service.”
