BMW Surpasses One Million Electric Vehicles Milestone

BMW, the German automaker, has announced a marginal increase in first-quarter sales, fueled in part by heightened demand for electric vehicles (EVs). The milestone achievement of delivering its one-millionth fully-electric vehicle underscores the BMW’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

During the first three months of the year, BMW delivered 594,671 vehicles, marking a 1.1 percent rise compared to the same period last year.

Notably, sales of BMW’s electric vehicles surged, reaching 82,700 units, representing an increase of 27.9 percent.

BMW anticipates a slight uptick in automotive deliveries for 2024, driven primarily by the growth in demand for fully-electric and premium vehicles.

Jochen Goller, a member of the Board of Management of BMW highlighted the significance of reaching the one-millionth milestone for fully-electric vehicles, emphasizing the appeal of BMW’s product portfolio in the market.

The first quarter witnessed robust growth for BMW across various regions, with Europe standing out with 5.5 percent increase in deliveries. Additionally, sales in the high-end premium segment experienced a rise of 21.6 percent, with flagship models like the BMW 7 Series witnessing double-digit growth globally.

BMW brand reported strong growth in electric vehicle sales, with an impressive 40.6 percent increase compared to the previous year.

BMW said preparations for the introduction of the New MINI Family are well underway, with the market debut of electrified models expected to generate significant interest.
