Beam Charging, a wholly owned subsidiary of Car Charging  Group, has formed partnership with iPark, a garage operator based in New York , to offer electric vehicle (EV) charging services in New York City, New York.
The new charging stations are located at 332-342 East 34th Street and 300 West 55th Street, and can be accessed via the valet attendants.
The property is near NYU Medical Center, NYU School of Medicine, Tisch Hospital, AMC Loews Kips Bay, New York Sports Club, and TD Bank as well as a variety of shops and restaurants.
The EV charging stations for these locations were deployed through Beam Charging’s award from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
“In order to sustain EV drivers in urban areas like New York City, it is imperative that drivers who do not have access to a dedicated charging station have access to public charging infrastructure,” said Michael D. Farkas, chief executive officer of CarCharging.
“With the support of NYSERDA and partners like iPark, we are able to accommodate these drivers and provide EV charging services throughout New York City,” Farkas added.
Tim Mustafaj, iPark, said, “By adding EV charging to the services that our valet personnel provide is an opportunity to add additional value to the services that we already provide to our customers.”
Beam Charging utilizes EV charging  stations known as Level II, which provide 240 volts with 32 amps of power to quickly recharge an electric vehicle’s battery.
