Commenting on Schneider Electric’s entry in the top 10 list of green companies, Gilles Vermot Desroches, SVP Sustainability at Schneider Electric, said the achievement shows the company has the right sustainability strategies and innovation roadmap in place.

“We want everyone on our planet to have access to safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable energy. We are committed to providing innovative solutions that address the energy paradox: balancing our planet’s carbon footprint with the irrefutable human right to quality energy,” Desroches added.

China and theU.S. contributed for the maximum number of green companies in the list. Twelve companies from India joined the list with two IT companies Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys topping the country list.

The Newsweek Green Rankings is based on eight objective performance indicators. A company’s score results from the weighted average of these indicators, based on its combined energy productivity score, combined greenhouse gas productivity score, combined water productivity score, combined waste productivity score, green revenue score, sustainability pay link, sustainability board committee and audited metrics.
