Vestas has announced firm orders totaling 239 MW for eight wind projects in the Münster region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The projects, developed by German wind farm developer BBWind and local partners, form part of Vestas’ Q3 2025 order intake and represent a major contribution to Germany’s ongoing energy transition.

The orders will utilize Vestas’ advanced EnVentus platform turbines, including the V172-7.2 MW and V162-6.2 MW models, tailored to site-specific conditions to maximize efficiency. Each project also includes a 20-year long-term service agreement, ensuring reliable operations and optimized performance.

“These projects underline how our EnVentus wind turbine technology is ideally suited to meet our customers’ needs in the German wind market,” said Nils de Baar, Regional President, Vestas Northern and Central Europe.

BBWind Managing Director Michael Schlüß added: “The EnVentus platform proves to be a strong solution for our community wind projects in North Rhine-Westphalia. We look forward to working with Vestas to advance the energy transition in our core region.”

The largest of the new projects is Hoetmar-Freckenhorst, which will have a capacity of 58 MW. For this site, Vestas will deliver eight V172-7.2 MW turbines. The turbines will be supported by a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement, ensuring reliability and efficiency. Deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning planned for the second quarter of 2027.

The WMO Quantwick West und Ost project will add 44 MW of capacity. Vestas will supply six V162-6.2 MW turbines along with one V172-7.2 MW turbine. This site will also operate under a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, and commissioning is expected in the second quarter of the same year.

For the Energiepark Beckum project, Vestas will provide three V172-7.2 MW turbines, giving the site a total capacity of 22 MW. The project includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service contract. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2027, followed by commissioning in the second quarter.

The Borken Weseke Ost wind farm will generate 36 MW of capacity through the installation of five V172-7.2 MW turbines. A 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement is also in place. The turbines will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning expected in the second quarter of 2027.

At Velen Dorenfeld, Vestas will supply four V172-7.2 MW turbines, resulting in 29 MW of installed capacity. As with the other projects, a 20-year AOM 5000 agreement has been signed. Deliveries will take place in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the turbines will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2027.

The Sendenhorst Elmenhorst site will add 22 MW of new capacity. Vestas will install three V172-7.2 MW turbines, each backed by a 20-year AOM 5000 service contract. Delivery is planned for the first quarter of 2027, with commissioning in the second quarter of 2027.

For the Oelde Wibberich project, three V172-7.2 MW turbines will be delivered, providing 22 MW of total capacity. A 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement has been signed. Deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the commissioning will follow in the second quarter of 2027.

Finally, the Dorsten Hilgenböcken project will install one V172-7.2 MW turbine, adding 7 MW of new capacity. Unlike the other projects, this site will be covered by a 20-year AOM 4000 service contract. Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, with commissioning in the third quarter of the same year.

Supporting Germany’s Energy Transition

Together, these projects add up to 239 MW of new wind energy capacity, which will play an important role in Germany’s ongoing transition toward renewable power. The long-term service agreements — AOM 4000 and AOM 5000 — will help ensure optimal turbine uptime, lower operational costs, and reliable clean energy production throughout the lifetime of each project.

By securing these orders, Vestas continues to reinforce its position as a key partner in Germany’s wind energy sector, supporting both the country’s Energiewende strategy and its long-term climate goals.
