TurboSonic Technologies, a global
provider of clean air technologies, has received a $2.7 million order for
turnkey supply of a SonicKleen Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP) to control
particulate emissions from a wood pellet production plant.
“We have a world class team, strong partners and a
proven technology platform that provide a foundation for TurboSonic’s future
success. Our extensive experience in the wood-based panel market, where we have
set the standard for equipment reliability and low maintenance, was
instrumental in winning this contract. We believe that this order represents a
growing market for us,” said
Edward Spink, TurboSonic CEO.
TurboSonic
will supply SonicKleen WESP to a European supplier of wood-based panel and
pellet production lines. The project completion is scheduled for the 2012
calendar year.
The SonicKleen WESP is a wet electrostatic precipitator
design that used to control fine particulate, condensable particulate matter
and acid mist emissions from industrial processes and power generation. It will
provide continuous, reliable performance and virtually maintenance-free
operation.
The use of wood pellets as fuel has been classified by
the US EPA to be a carbon neutral fuel source. The European market has also
increased its reliance on biofuels in place of burning coal for heat and power
generation, to reduce carbon emissions.
TurboSonic
recently announced the receipt of
a US$1 Million order for a SonicKleen Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP) to
reduce submicron particulate matter and sulfuric acid emissions from a steam
generator used for enhanced oil recovery through steam injection. Equipment
delivery is scheduled for the current fiscal year.
