Wind Prospect Group, a renewables consultancy, has won a contract to provide construction project management and turbine procurement services for the 50MW Yereymentau wind farm east of Astana in Kazakhstan.
The agreement has been signed with 3E, an energy, ecology, and engineering consultancy company, which is working for JSC Samruk-Energo, for two-and-a-half years.
An onsite team of Wind Prospect will support 3E with preparation of tender, expertise in getting necessary permissions, and management of the EPC contract.
Wind Prospect has stated that construction on the project is expected to start next June and should be completed in 12 to 24 months from start date.
According to reports, Yereymentau wind project is likely to be expanded to 300 MW in future. It will be financed by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
