juwi Wind starts construction of the 30 MW wind farm in Minnesota

Greentech Lead America: juwi Wind has started the
construction of the 30 MW Community Wind South wind farm in Nobles County,
Minnesota. juwi will construct and operate the project and members of the
community will own a portion of it.

The project will feature the tallest turbines in the
state. Under a long-term PPA, the power generated by the project will be sold
to Xcel Energy.

“juwi is proud to start construction on Community
Wind South and transform the local community’s vision into a reality of
economic benefits and jobs for Nobles County. The project, which has been years
in the making, will deliver a reliable source of renewable power for Xcel
Energy, America’s #1 wind utility,” said Michael Rucker, juwi Wind North
America CEO.

The first foundation has been poured for 15 REpower MM92,
2 MW turbines with a 100 meter hub-height that will be delivered over the
summer and early fall. juwi has contracted with Signal Energy Constructors for
the construction of the project. The construction is expected to complete in October,
2012.

“This community-based wind resource will contribute
clean, renewable energy to our customers and fulfills commitments made as we
build needed transmission infrastructure to improve system reliability and move
renewable energy to market,” said Judy Poferl, president and CEO of
Northern States Power Co.-Minnesota, an Xcel Energy company.

juwi Wind Canada and Eskasoni sign MOU for the development of
wind project in Nova Scotia

Recently, juwi Wind Canada and the Eskasoni Corporate
Division signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the development,
construction, ownership and operation of a 4.4 megawatt Harmony Community Wind
project.
