Inner Mongolia autonomous region is attracting greater investment in its wind energy sector from China.
AVIC Heavy Machinery, a Chinese industrial company, recently announced plans to construct 1,500 MW of wind farms and a 200 MW solar photovoltaic park in the region.
The company will realize the projects through agreements with local governments of Horqin Left Back Banner, Horqin Right Middle Banner and Horqin Right Front Banner.
Under the alliance, China Aviation Industry Renewable Energy Corporation, an AVIC unit, will invest and build 500 MW of wind and 100 MW of solar capacity in each of the first two regions.
The deal with Horqin Right Front Banner authority covers only 500 MW of wind power capacity. The company hasn’t revealed details of investment in the projects.
