Coupa has accelerated its sustainability strategy with significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, 100 percent renewable electricity across global offices, stronger responsible artificial intelligence governance, and an expanding sustainable procurement ecosystem, according to its FY26 Sustainability Report.

The company reported a 54 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its FY23 baseline, alongside a 42 percent reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity over the same period. Coupa has also established a Climate Transition Plan targeting net-zero emissions by FY41, providing a long-term framework for reducing emissions and managing climate-related risks, Coupa sustainability report 2025 indicated.

Coupa Achieves 100 Percent Renewable Electricity

Renewable energy is playing a central role in Coupa’s operational decarbonization. During FY26, the company achieved 100 percent renewable electricity across its global office operations, complementing energy efficiency and emissions reduction measures across its corporate footprint.

As a cloud software business with more than 2,600 employees, Coupa identifies offices, business travel and cloud operations as major sources of energy consumption and emissions and therefore key areas for decarbonization.

Sandy Eapen, Director of Sustainability & CSR at Coupa, is leading initiatives focused on reducing these impacts while strengthening environmental management, social responsibility and sustainability governance.

Coupa’s Climate Transition Plan combines operational emissions reductions with improved resource efficiency and measures designed to increase the company’s resilience to climate-related risks as it progresses toward its FY41 net-zero target.

US$10 Trillion Spend Data Expands Sustainable Procurement Impact

Coupa’s environmental impact extends beyond its corporate operations through its procurement and supply chain ecosystem.

Its platform incorporates more than US$10 trillion in cumulative economic spend data, providing organizations with insights that can support purchasing, supply chain management and sustainable procurement decisions.

Coupa reported more than 3,100 customers and a network encompassing more than 10 million suppliers across 200 countries. Other FY26 disclosures put the wider community-generated ecosystem at more than 11 million buyers and suppliers.

The company reported that its solutions have generated more than US$320 billion in customer lifetime savings, compared with an earlier reported milestone of more than US$300 billion, demonstrating the scale of economic activity and efficiency improvements enabled through its platform.

This combination of spend intelligence and supplier information can help companies identify emissions associated with specific purchasing categories and suppliers, optimize sourcing strategies and find opportunities for waste and carbon reductions.

The platform can also support Scope 3 decarbonization by helping customers optimize logistics routes, evaluate fleet electrification opportunities and increase visibility into supply chain emissions.

Supplier Diversity Tracking Covers 32 Categories

Responsible sourcing and supplier inclusion represent another component of Coupa’s ESG strategy. Its technology supports supplier diversity tracking across up to 32 diversity categories, allowing customers to measure and manage inclusive procurement programs.

Within Coupa’s own operations, 4 percent of direct spending was sourced from diverse suppliers, while 5 percent of suppliers were certified as diverse.

The platform has also supported customers’ supplier diversity objectives. Kantar, for example, maintained a 12.5 percent supplier diversity target supported by data-driven procurement practices.

Responsible AI Strategy Strengthened With ISO Certification

Coupa expanded its ESG strategy into artificial intelligence governance during FY26 as AI becomes increasingly integrated into enterprise procurement and supply chain processes.

The company achieved ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its AI management system, strengthening formal processes around AI transparency, accountability, governance and risk management.

Innovation activity also expanded during the fiscal year, with Coupa securing 15 U.S. patents. Women were co-inventors on 25 percent of those patents, highlighting the company’s efforts to increase participation in technology innovation.

Responsible AI governance is becoming particularly important as Coupa seeks to use its massive procurement dataset and network to develop increasingly automated and intelligent spend-management capabilities.

Employees Contribute 4,012 Volunteer Hours to 848 Nonprofits

Coupa’s FY26 ESG initiatives extended to employee development and community investment.

Employees contributed 4,012 volunteer hours across 848 nonprofit organizations during the fiscal year, supporting community initiatives and social programs.

Coupa simultaneously invested more than 29,000 hours in employee professional development, helping its workforce develop skills and expertise as technologies and workplace requirements continue to evolve.

The combination of employee learning, volunteering and community engagement forms a key part of the company’s broader social sustainability strategy.

Coupa Builds ESG Strategy Around Climate, AI and Sustainable Supply Chains

Coupa’s FY26 sustainability performance demonstrates how the company is integrating climate targets, renewable energy, responsible AI and sustainable procurement into its broader business strategy.

Its most significant environmental achievements include a 54 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, a 42 percent decline in Scope 3 emissions intensity from the FY23 baseline, and 100 percent renewable electricity across global office operations. These measures provide the foundation for Coupa’s longer-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions by FY41.

At the same time, Coupa is extending its sustainability influence through an ecosystem encompassing more than US$10 trillion in spend data, 3,100-plus customers, more than 10 million suppliers across 200 countries, a broader network exceeding 11 million buyers and suppliers, and more than US$320 billion in customer lifetime savings.

Combined with 15 U.S. patents, 25 percent female co-inventorship, supplier diversity monitoring across up to 32 categories, 4,012 employee volunteer hours, support for 848 nonprofit organizations, and more than 29,000 professional development hours, the FY26 results position sustainability as an increasingly integrated element of Coupa’s operations, technology strategy and global procurement ecosystem.
