JinkoSolar, the solar PV service providers, have announced the opening of their new solar module factory in Cape Town, South Africa.
JinkoSolar has invested a total of approx. USD7.5 million in the factory.
The factory covers an area of 5,000sq.m.and has an annual production capacity of 120 MW.
It is anticipated that the construction process will create 250 job opportunities.
Equipped with innovative production facilities in China, the factory will employ methods to ensure high quality PV module production process.
This is the first foreign solar manufacturer to have built production facilities in South Africa.
JinkoSolar has sold over 300 MW solar modules in South African market since 2012.
The completion of this factory proves JinkoSolar’ s ability to diversify the global manufacturing facilities.
The factory will enhance global production chain allowing serving customers with local content, commented, Kangping Chen, CEO, JinkoSolar.
