Trina Storage introduced its next-generation Elementa 2 Pro 5MWh energy storage system at the 2025 Energy Storage Summit in Sydney, marking its Australian debut.
The event, one of the most influential in the global energy storage industry, brought together over 250 delegates and top experts, reinforcing Trina Storage’s role in technological innovation and localised energy solutions.
Australia is expected to become one of the fastest-growing energy storage markets, with cumulative capacity projected to exceed 28GWh by 2030, according to BloombergNEF. Trina Storage is committed to advancing storage technology tailored to Australian conditions, addressing challenges such as high temperatures, humidity, and electricity price fluctuations.
The Elementa 2 Pro 5MWh builds on the success of Elementa 2, offering significant improvements in efficiency, flexibility, and safety. Featuring Trina’s self-developed 314Ah high-performance Trina Cell, the system supports 15,000 cycles — up from 12,000 — enhancing lifespan and reducing lifecycle costs. It is C5 corrosion-resistant certified and equipped with IP67-rated battery modules to ensure stability in harsh maritime climates.
The intelligent hybrid air-liquid cooling system keeps the internal temperature difference within 2.5°C, cutting auxiliary power consumption by 30 percent and enabling efficient operation in temperatures up to 55°C. Advanced fire mitigation measures, a sandwich cabin structure for up to two hours of fire protection, and a low-noise design (70dB) further enhance safety and adaptability to regulatory requirements.
With over 10GWh of shipments worldwide, Trina Storage continues to drive the transition to clean energy with high-efficiency, reliable solutions. The company recently partnered with Pacific Green for the 250MW/500MWh Limestone Coast North Energy Park project in South Australia, reinforcing its commitment to the region’s renewable energy future.
