Consumers Energy and Hecate Energy Start Sunfish Solar 2 Project

Consumers Energy and Hecate Energy have started construction on the 360 MW Sunfish Solar 2 project in Michigan, expected to be completed by 2026. The project will supply power to 69,000 homes and support Michigan’s goal of 50 percent renewable energy by 2030. It will create 350 construction jobs and contribute $225 million to the local economy.

Lightstar Launches Web Page for Tuytenbridge Road Solar Project

Lightstar Renewables has launched a web page for the Tuytenbridge Road Community Solar Project in Ulster, NY. The 4.1 MW project will lower energy costs, reduce CO2 emissions, and prioritize environmental conservation. The site provides project details and updates for community engagement.

SolRiver Capital Completes Auburn Solar Project in Oregon

SolRiver Capital has completed the 3 MW Auburn Community Solar Project in Oregon, providing affordable clean energy to hundreds of subscribers in the Portland metro area. The project is part of Oregon’s Tier 2 Community Solar Program and serves 600 subscribers, including 55 low-income households. This initiative is one of the first of its kind and offers a model for integrating solar power with community benefits.

Cenergy Partners with Next Wave Energy for Solar Monitoring

Cenergy has chosen Next Wave Energy Monitoring to provide data acquisition systems for over 60 MW of community solar projects in Illinois and Maine. This collaboration ensures reliable monitoring and maximizes solar system performance, helping these projects remain efficient and effective in challenging weather conditions.

Port of Long Beach Adds Wireless Charging

InductEV, in partnership with International Transportation Service (ITS), will install wireless inductive chargers at the Port of Long Beach. Supported by a 3.3 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC), this project will charge five battery-electric cargo handling vehicles while parked. This technology enables shorter, efficient charging sessions throughout the day, reducing reliance on overnight wired charging.

Enfinity Global Plans Battery Storage in Texas

Enfinity Global plans to build 425 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Texas, starting in 2025. These projects, located in ERCOT’s Houston and Dallas zones, will help stabilize the grid and support growing electricity demand, driven by AI and manufacturing industries. Enfinity’s total U.S. BESS pipeline now reaches 6.6 GW, with over 7 billion dollars in planned investments and 5,000 construction jobs expected.
