Landbell Group has officially opened applications for the Green Alley Award, a prestigious startup prize that champions innovative European business ideas at the intersection of economy and ecology. Celebrating its remarkable impact and a decade of nurturing sustainability-driven startups, the Green Alley Award invites aspiring entrepreneurs to submit their groundbreaking concepts for a chance to win €25,000 in prize money.

Over the years, the Green Alley Award has emerged as a significant catalyst for change in the circular economy space, attracting over 1,600 pioneering ideas from across Europe. Notably, the awards have actively promoted gender diversity in entrepreneurship, with 40 percent of recent applicants being female founders.

The award’s commitment to fostering circular economy initiatives is underpinned by the allocation of more than €1.3 million in funding to date. Additionally, the program has acknowledged and celebrated 54 finalists, hailing from various European nations, including Finland, Germany, Italy, the UK, and Ukraine. By doing so, the Green Alley Award has provided young entrepreneurs with vital support and facilitated connections with a vast network of circular economy experts.

Jan Patrick Schulz, CEO of Landbell Group and founder of the Green Alley Award, stated, “We initiated the Green Alley Award ten years ago to support entrepreneurs that take on circular economy challenges. As we gather to celebrate this milestone, we also look towards the horizon — and a new decade full of possibilities.”

In the previous edition of the Green Alley Award, which saw 226 startups vying for recognition across categories like the digital circular economy, recycling, and waste prevention, the award was presented to the innovative eco-friendly packaging solution developed by startup S.Lab in 2023. The illustrious list of past winners includes RePack (2014), Adaptavate (2015), Green City Solutions (2016), Sulapac (2017), Aeropowder (2018), Gelatex (2019), Traceless Materials (2021), and Voltfang (2022).

Application Process Highlights:

Application Deadline: Startups are invited to submit their applications online by November 20, 2023, through the Green Alley Award website at https://green-alley-award.com/apply/.

Selection Process: A pre-selected group of startups will be announced on the Green Alley Award website for a public vote. The startup with the majority of votes will automatically become one of the six finalists. The remaining five finalists will be selected by an expert committee.

Finals in Berlin: In April 2024, the six finalists will be invited to Berlin, where they will engage in working sessions with esteemed circular economy experts and startup mentors. In the evening, each finalist will have the opportunity to pitch their idea live on stage to an expert jury and an international audience. The winning startup will receive a prize of €25,000. An after party will provide networking opportunities for making new business contacts.

The Green Alley Award continues to serve as a beacon for sustainable entrepreneurship, fostering innovation and collaboration to address the critical challenges of our time. Entrepreneurs with pioneering ideas in the circular economy are encouraged to seize this opportunity to make a lasting impact on the world.
