LS Power has revealed its agreement with a Platinum Equity affiliate to acquire the Hunterstown natural gas-fired power plant situated in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The Hunterstown facility, boasting an 810-megawatt combined cycle gas-fired power generation capacity, is strategically located within the PJM Interconnection. The acquisition is slated to conclude in the second quarter of 2024.

LS Power has established itself as a major player in the energy sector, currently operating a gas generation fleet exceeding 16,000 megawatts.

Since inception, LS Power has developed or acquired 47,000 MW of power generation, including utility-scale solar, wind, hydro, battery energy storage, and natural gas-fired facilities. Additionally, LS Power Grid has built 780+ miles of high-voltage transmission, with 350+ miles and multiple grid infrastructure projects currently under construction or development.
