Greentech Lead Europe: Rejlers, a Nordic expertise group
within electro-technology, energy, mechanics, automation, electronics IT and
telecommunications, has signed a deal with Foster Wheeler Energia for the
engineering of automation, electrification and instrumentation of a 35 MWe
biomass-fired CFB boiler island.
As part of the agreement, the new Circulating Fluidized
Bed (CFB) boiler island will be placed in Ortofta, in the vicinity of Lund,
Sweden.
Rejlers said the company started the engineering work in
March 2012. At present, the project is employing about 10 consultants.
According to a company press release, the steam generator
is designed to burn 100 percent bio fuel with up to 50 percent demolition wood.
The new power plant will be replacing Lunds Energi’s existing one, where old
equipment operates on fossil fuels.
The company is planning to start the operations at the
power plant in the spring of 2014. Foster Wheeler delivers the boiler island to
Eslov Lund Kraftvarmeverk AB, a local municipally owned energy company.
