Political leaders of India tweet on World Environment Day

Indian Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar today emphasized the need for protecting our environment.

In a public tweet on the occasion of World Environment Day, the Minister said, “Healthy environment is our gift to the children. Let’s protect our environment.”

Javadekar said he would take initiative to offer small plants to each MP asking them to promote environment protection in their constituency. “Let’s preserve the environment, let us secure the future,” he said.

world_environment_dayJavadekar is part of the recently elected 16th Lok Sabha led by Narendra Modi.

Tweets on Environment Day are flowing from other Ministers and opposition leaders as well.

Home minister Rajnath Singh in his tweet said: “On World Environment Day today, we need to remind ourselves that we must have a firm resolve to protect our fragile environment. We should preserve our environment not just for ourselves, but for our future generations as well.”

Digvijaya Singh of Congress said in his tweet: “Wish everyone on World Environment Day. We all have to be conscious of our responsibility to save our Planet for our Generations to come.”

Meanwhile Ananth Kumar, Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, said he would advocate for adopting a green lifestyle and educating everyone about Green lifestyle. “Think globally and act locally,” he said.
