NJR Clean Energy Ventures completes 14.1 megawatt solar system project

By
Green Tech Lead Team:
NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV), a
subsidiary of New Jersey Resources announced it has completed the 14.1 megawatt
solar system built on McGraw-Hill’s East Windsor, New Jersey campus.

The $59.5 million system is expected to generate 18.4
million kilowatt hours annually, enough electricity to significantly offset the
need for other energy sources to run McGraw-Hill’s offices in East Windsor.

The clean energy produced by this solar system en
estimates 12,689 metric tons of carbon equivalent emissions from the atmosphere
annually or the equivalent of removing the carbon dioxide emissions produced by
approximately 2,500 cars.

In addition, NJRCEV  other
projects into service during the first quarter of fiscal 2012. The other
projects including the 3.6 megawatt project at the Village of Manalapan, the
remaining 25 percent of a 4.7 megawatt system in Vineland, New Jersey and the
1.3 megawatt system across two rooftops in Edison, New Jersey.

The 3.6 megawatt project at the Village of Manalapan is a
$17.2 million, ground-mount solar project located in Manalapan, New Jersey. The
plant is expected to produce 4.5 million kilowatt hours annually, eliminating
an estimated 3,100 metric tons of carbon equivalent emissions or the equivalent
of removing the carbon dioxide emissions produced by approximately 609 cars.

When completing the remaining 25 percent of the $22.3
million solar project in Vineland, the system will supply 4.7 megawatt clean energy
to the Vineland Municipal Electric Utility.

The two rooftop systems in Edison, totaling 1.3
megawatts, represent an aggregate $6.4 million investment and are expected to
produce 1.5 million kilowatt hours annually, eliminating an estimated 1,060 metric
tons of carbon equivalent emissions from the atmosphere annually or the
equivalent of removing the carbon dioxide emissions produced by approximately
210 cars.

NJR Clean Energy Ventures recently announced that
it will extend The Sunlight Advantage’s simple, solar savings to an additional
500 customers in fiscal 2012 with the completion of its 350th residential
solar installation.
