Montana and Mississippi to offer access to GreenRide Connect ridesharing program

Ecology and Environment a Lancaster based environmental
solutions provider, announced the addition of two Web-based statewide GreenRide
Connect ridesharing programs in the states of Montana and Mississippi.

“Sustainability begins with small behavioral
changes, like carpooling instead of driving in a single occupant vehicle, which
collectively lead to larger environmental impacts,” said
Kevin Neumaier, president and CEO, E & E.

Both programs will help state residents find carpooling
options and other sustainable transportation alternatives to driving alone.
GreenRide
is currently available to over 42 million people in 22 states and provides easy
to use access for alternative commute programs.

The programs track the gasoline, greenhouse gas, and
economic savings. GreenRide Connect also has options for finding commuting
partners that match user preferences for alternative commutes like biking
programs and vanpooling.

“Providing easy access for area residents to
regional and statewide carpooling programs like GreenRide Connect continues to
get easier with Web-based programs,” said Mary Ann Ferris Young,
Transportation Demand Management Specialist with Ecology and Environment.

The state of Mississippi’s program will be operated by
the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the state of Montana’s program
will be operated by the Western Transportation Institute at Montana State
University.
