Lighting for holidays go environment friendly

Preferred
Holiday Decor, a San Antonio-based company renowned in the holiday lighting
industry, announced it is illuminating the beautiful San Antonio river with
millions of light emitting diode (LED) lightings at the 80th annual
lighting of the River Walk to celebrate this holiday season.

The City of San
Antonio worked with the experts at Preferred Holiday Decor to install over 1.7
million multi-colored LED lights on trees, bridges and structures throughout
the River Walk. This adoption sets new standard for one of the largest
environmentally-friendly projects in Texas.

The use
of LED lights in holiday displays is a trend that more and more organizations
are adopting. Because LED lights are brighter than incandescents, they last
longer, offer energy efficiency and are more environmentally friendly,
forward-looking companies are investing in the next generation of lighting options.

“As more and
more people become environmentally conscious, LED lighting during the holidays
provides a more energy efficient option for companies who want to go green,”
said David Dunne, president of Preferred Holiday Decor.
