Greentech Lead Asia: JinkoSolar has signed a strategic
cooperation agreement with Jinchuan Group, a Chinese state-owned enterprise, to
jointly invest and develop a 200 MW photovoltaic solar power plant in
Jinchang, Gansu Province, China.
Once connected to the grid, the project will become one
of the Asia’s largest independent PV solar power plants.
With approximately RMB 2 billion investment
scale, the project has been approved by Gansu Development and Reform Commission
and is expected to be completed and connected to the grid by June 2013.
The PV solar power plant will complement the large industrial base and
infrastructure Jinchuan Group has already built in the region with three
thermal power plants.
“Jinchang receives large amounts of sunlight and has
ample land resources, which make it very suitable for PV power plant
development,” said Mr. Xiande Li, chairman of JinkoSolar.
“We are very pleased to cooperate with Jinchuan
Group, a reputed SOE with international competitiveness,” Li added. “We are
confident that our cooperation will aid in the development of a green future
for the region and a sustainable return on our investment.”
