Cambridge receives LEED certification from U.S. Green Building Council

By Greentech Lead Team: Cambridge Investment Research, an
independent, privately owned broker-dealer with over 2,000 independent
registered representatives, has been awarded Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building
Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).

LEED is America’s preeminent program for the design,
construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

U.S. Green Building Council has issued LEED certification
to Cambridge for energy reduction, lighting and water efficiency, and use of
environmentally preferable materials, as well as educational outreach and green
housekeeping programs.

“Cambridge’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous
green building leadership. The urgency of USGBC’s mission has challenged the industry
to move faster and reach further than ever before, and Cambridge serves as a
prime example with just how much we can accomplish,” said Rick Fedrizzi,
president, CEO, and founding chair, U.S. Green Building Council.

LEED certified buildings save money for families,
businesses, and taxpayers; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and contribute to a
healthier environment for residents, workers, and the larger community.

LEED certification of Cambridge was based on a number of
green design and construction features including Geothermal HVAC system,
natural lighting, low water consumption fixtures, reflective surfaces on
building and parking lot to reduce heat island effect, low emission paint and
carpet, healthy indoor air quality, reserved parking spaces for car poolers and
high MPG vehicles and Non-toxic green cleaning program.

“Making a positive difference in the lives of our
associates, clients, and the world at large is an important part of Cambridge’s
mission. Buildings that are sustainable and green are part of our broader
vision of being the ideal corporate citizen and leading by example,” said Eric
Schwartz, chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

Recently, Cambridge and IN Adviser Solutions announced
the launch of an inaugural study on succession planning. Sponsored by
Cambridge, the new study is being conducted by IN Adviser Solutions.
