ASPATE selects TROPICAL natural-gas fuel-cell home power systems

Greentech Lead Europe: TROPICAL, a manufacturer of
fuel-cell power generation systems, announced that ASPATE, a developer of
energy projects, has selected TROPICAL’s GreenGen N5, 5KW natural-gas fuel-cell
power system for 500 new homes at ASPATE’s bioclimatic residential construction
project.

With this agreement with ASPATE, TROPICAL is looking to
add next-generation power solutions in its product portfolio.

“TROPICAL’s GreenGen NG-5 is a green energy
high-tech product selected by ASPATE for its high standards, quality and
comparative advantages. The partnership proves to be validation of excellence
and competitiveness of our cutting-edge technology products” said George
Lagios, chairman and CEO of TROPICAL.

TROPICAL’s Fuel-Cell Power Systems product portfolio
consists of hydrogen, methanol, propane and natural-gas powered solutions for
both stationary and portable applications in the range of 100W to 20kW.

GreenGen NG-5 is an evolution of Tropical’s existing
hydrogen fuel cell power generation system. It offers customers a green,
emission-free solution that will provide them with energy independence and will
benefit from the growing natural gas infrastructure and distribution directly
to the home and business.

Tropical utilizes Hydrogen
Fuel Cells in power electric cars, scooters and boats. It is working on
fuel-cell deployment for mini buses.

“In addition to the commercial distribution of our
NG fuel-cell systems, the ASPATE agreement will also give us the opportunity to
apply a number of additional next-generation power solutions, which are
currently in the pipeline,” Lagios added.

ASPATE plans to develop over 500 green energy
homes throughout Greece by deploying environment-friendly technologies
including photovoltaic, geothermic and fuel cells with in next three years.

“ASPATE plans to develop over 5000 such residential
units by 2020 all built according to thenceforth generally accepted
eco-friendly standard. ASPATE found in TROPICAL a strong and reliable technology
partner that has an impressive product portfolio and a go-getting strategy
fully aligned with our vision for the home of the future,” said
Konstantinos Aslanidis, president & CEO, ASPATE.

Recently, Tropical announced its first investment round
by an independent private investor. Proceeds from the investment will go toward
international expansion and new product development.
