Vilnius Completes €10 Million, 3 MW Green Hydrogen Plant

Vilnius has completed construction of a 3 MW green hydrogen production facility representing an investment of around €10 million. Equipment and system testing is now underway, with hydrogen production scheduled to begin by the end of 2026. The project represents a tangible step in Lithuania’s move toward renewable hydrogen and provides a new local source of low-carbon fuel for transport and potentially other municipal uses. The plant will use electricity to produce hydrogen through electrolysis, helping connect Lithuania’s growing renewable-power sector with harder-to-electrify applications. Completion of construction marks the transition from project development to commissioning, making it one of the more advanced municipal-scale hydrogen deployments in the Baltic region.

Bankinter and Plenium Secure €76 Million for Four Italian Biomethane Plants

Bankinter Investment and Plenium Partners have secured a €76 million senior project-finance facility from ING and UniCredit to refinance four biomethane plants in Italy. The financing, equivalent to roughly $88.4 million, strengthens the capital structure of the portfolio and reflects continued lender appetite for renewable-gas infrastructure. Biomethane is becoming an increasingly important part of Europe’s energy-transition strategy because it can substitute fossil natural gas using existing pipelines and end-use infrastructure. The four-project refinancing also provides Bankinter and Plenium with greater flexibility to expand their renewable-gas activities. The involvement of two major European banks underscores the growing maturity of biomethane as an infrastructure asset class alongside solar, wind and battery storage.

Star Trade Signs Corporate PPA with 800 MW Formosa 6 Offshore Wind Project

Synera Renewable Energy has signed a corporate power purchase agreement with Taiwanese energy-services company Star Trade covering power from the planned 800 MW Formosa 6 offshore wind farm. Synera Renewable Energy is backed by infrastructure investor Stonepeak. Although the exact contracted volume was not disclosed, the agreement represents another commercial step toward securing long-term revenue for Formosa 6. The project is part of Taiwan’s continuing offshore-wind build-out and illustrates the growing role of corporate PPAs alongside government-supported procurement mechanisms. At 800 MW, Formosa 6 is a major offshore development, and new offtake contracts improve bankability by diversifying the project’s future revenue base and establishing demand from commercial and industrial customers.
