Norwegian-American home-energy company Otovo has signed agreements for the proposed $11 million acquisition of Green Panel Solar Energy Systems in Israel. The transaction is expected to expand Otovo’s service operations across 15 European markets and add an immediately profitable solar-services business. Green Panel is already part of a broader Otovo strategy shifting away from reliance on one-time residential installations toward recurring maintenance, repair, subscriptions and equipment upgrades. Earlier plans around the Green Panel relationship envisaged servicing more than 250,000 installations and homes across multiple European countries. The acquisition strengthens Otovo’s after-sales infrastructure as Europe’s large installed base of residential solar and battery systems creates growing demand for maintenance, inverter replacement, battery upgrades and technical support.
Edisun Power Agrees €470 Million Acquisition of Smartenergy Operations
Swiss solar producer Edisun Power Europe has signed a binding agreement to acquire the operating business of strategic partner Smartenergy Group in a transaction valued at just under CHF 440 million, equivalent to about USD 548.2 million or EUR 469.9 million. The deal broadens Edisun Power beyond its existing solar-generation portfolio by bringing in additional renewable-energy development and operating capabilities. Smartenergy has built activities spanning solar, renewable fuels and other clean-energy technologies, giving Edisun exposure to a larger project pipeline and wider value chain. Flender Opens New Chennai Wind Generator Plant to Expand India Manufacturing
Flender has opened a new wind-generator production facility in Chennai, India, expanding its manufacturing footprint under the Winergy brand. The site strengthens Flender’s wind drivetrain value chain, covering generators, gearboxes, direct-drive components, couplings and multibrand services. The company says the facility will increase production capacity closer to customers while supporting greater localization of the Indian wind supply chain, including integrated winding operations.
