Neoen Starts Construction of 346 MW Goyder North Wind Farm in Australia
Neoen has started construction of the 346 MW Goyder North Wind Farm Stage 1 near Burra in South Australia. Vestas will supply and install 48 V172-7.2 MW turbines, while Downer will construct grid-connection and transmission infrastructure. The project is backed by a 100 MW renewable baseload agreement with BHP, supplying the Olympic Dam, Carrapateena and Prominent Hill mining operations. Electricity from Goyder North will be combined with capacity from the 454 MW/1,814 MWh Goyder Battery. Commercial operations are expected in 2029, with annual generation estimated at 1.3 TWh. Construction will support approximately 500 jobs. The wider Goyder Renewables Zone now represents approximately 1.2 GW of renewable generation and storage capacity.
Baltic Power Completes Installation of 76 Turbines at 1.1 GW Polish Offshore Wind Farm
Northland Power and ORLEN have completed installation of all 76 offshore wind turbines at the 1.1 GW Baltic Power project, Poland’s first offshore wind farm. More than one-third of the turbines are already generating electricity as commissioning continues. The project delivered its first power to Poland’s electricity grid in July 2026 and remains on schedule to begin commercial operations before the end of 2026. Baltic Power is expected to generate approximately 4 TWh of electricity annually, enough to supply more than 1.5 million Polish households. Northland confirmed that overall project expenditure remains aligned with original expectations. The latest milestone completes the offshore turbine-installation phase and advances the development toward full commercial operation.
Nordex Wins 389 MW Wind Turbine Orders in Türkiye for 2027–2028 Delivery
Nordex has secured several contracts covering 389 MW of new wind power capacity in Türkiye. The orders comprise 56 Delta4000-series wind turbines, with each contract including multiyear service and maintenance agreements. Nordex will supply and install turbines configured for the wind conditions and technical requirements of the individual project sites. Installation and commissioning are scheduled to proceed in stages during 2027 and 2028. The contracts were secured during September and announced on October 7. Nordex did not disclose individual customers, project locations or contract values. The manufacturer has supplied more than 64 GW of wind power equipment globally since 1985 and maintains manufacturing operations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
