The latest renewable energy news includes announcements from Infinium, Enercon, ABL, OWP Gennaker, and others.

Infinium Launches Methane-to-SAF Technology Using RNG, Biogas and Flare Gas

Infinium has launched mSAF, a new sustainable aviation fuel platform capable of converting renewable natural gas, biogas, flare gas and other qualifying methane streams into lower-carbon aviation fuel. The technology combines Infinium’s commercially deployed advanced Fischer–Tropsch platform with electrified reforming, extending the company’s fuel technology beyond its existing CO2-based eSAF pathway. The approach broadens both the feedstock base and potential locations for Infinium’s future SAF projects because methane resources are available across agricultural, landfill, wastewater and industrial operations. Infinium is positioning mSAF as complementary to its eSAF business rather than a replacement. The September 21 launch represents a new commercial technology pathway aimed at increasing scalable low-carbon aviation-fuel production.

Enercon Launches Wind Project Financing Fund Using Mezzanine Loans

Enercon has launched the Enercon Finance Solutions Fund, creating a dedicated financing platform for new wind farms using Enercon turbines and for refinancing existing projects. The fund will provide mezzanine loans, reducing the amount of equity developers and operators must contribute while allowing them to retain ownership and control of their wind projects. Existing wind farms can also use the structure to release equity capital tied up in operating assets. Enercon developed the platform with institutional financing partners. The initiative expands the manufacturer’s business beyond turbine supply into project finance, addressing capital constraints that can delay otherwise viable wind developments and potentially accelerating orders for Enercon equipment.

ABL Wins Construction Support Contract for 976 MW Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm

ABL has secured a contract from OWP Gennaker to provide marine warranty survey and marine assurance services during construction of the 976 MW Gennaker offshore wind farm in Germany’s Baltic Sea. Located approximately 15 km from the German coast, Gennaker will comprise 63 high-capacity wind turbines and is expected to become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. ABL’s scope covers marine transportation and installation activities required during construction, combining engineering review, marine assurance and navigational-risk expertise. The contract represents another execution-stage milestone as the nearly 1 GW project moves through its offshore construction programme. Gennaker will make a sizeable addition to Germany’s offshore wind generation fleet.
