Infinity Power and Hassan Allam Sign 25-Year PPA for 1 GW Ras Shokeir Wind Farm in Egypt
Infinity Power and Hassan Allam Utilities Energy have signed a power purchase agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for the 1 GW Ras Shokeir wind project in Egypt’s Red Sea Governorate. The agreement provides the commercial framework for one of Egypt’s largest planned wind farms and represents a material step toward construction. The project supports Egypt’s strategy to expand privately financed renewable generation and exploit the Red Sea region’s strong wind resources. The PPA reportedly runs for 25 years, providing long-term revenue visibility to the developers. Once built, the 1 GW project would significantly enlarge Egypt’s operating wind fleet and strengthen Infinity Power and Hassan Allam’s position in Africa’s renewable-energy market.
TenneT Raises €2.5 Billion Green Bonds for Offshore Wind Grid and Transmission Investment
TenneT Netherlands has priced €2.5 billion of new green bonds to finance electricity-grid infrastructure including offshore wind connections, interconnectors and network expansion. The issuance comprises a €1.5 billion seven-year bond carrying a 3.375 percent coupon and €1 billion 15-year bond carrying a 3.75 percent coupon. Settlement is scheduled for September 10, 2026. The financing benefits from an irrevocable Dutch state guarantee, supporting TenneT’s large capital programme as the Netherlands connects additional North Sea wind capacity. BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank acted as global coordinators, with ABN AMRO, HSBC, ING and UniCredit among the bookrunners. The transaction is one of Europe’s largest recent renewable-grid financing packages.
Siemens Gamesa Starts Blade Production for Orsted’s 2.9 GW Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm
Blade manufacturing has started for Orsted’s 2.9 GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind project at Siemens Gamesa’s factory in Hull, UK, marking a major supply-chain and construction milestone for one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms. Hornsea 3 is being built in the North Sea off England’s east coast and is expected to significantly expand the Hornsea offshore wind complex. Starting blade production moves the project deeper into component manufacturing ahead of turbine installation. The programme also reinforces the role of Siemens Gamesa’s Hull facility in Britain’s offshore-wind supply chain and provides manufacturing activity linked to the multi-gigawatt project. Hornsea 3 is expected to generate enough renewable electricity for several million UK homes once fully operational.
