The latest renewable energy news includes announcements from Renewable Auctions in Poland, ABO Energy, Blue Elephant Energy, Potentia, and others.

Poland Opens 2026 Renewable Auctions for 76 TWh Worth Up to PLN 24.9 Billion

Poland’s energy regulator URE has scheduled its 2026 renewable-energy auctions for November 2–10, offering contracts covering up to 76 TWh of electricity with a maximum aggregate value of PLN 24.9 billion ($6.5 billion/€5.7 billion). The auction programme provides long-term revenue support for qualifying renewable projects and represents one of Poland’s major mechanisms for bringing new clean-generation capacity into operation. Developers will compete across the designated auction baskets during the November window. The programme comes as Poland accelerates renewable investment while modernising a power system historically dominated by coal. Successful bidders will gain contracted electricity revenues supporting subsequent project financing, procurement, construction and commissioning.

ABO Energy Sells 33 MW of German Wind Projects to Blue Elephant Energy

ABO Energy has sold two German onshore wind projects totalling 33 MW to compatriot Blue Elephant Energy. The completed transaction transfers a defined portfolio of wind-generation assets rather than an early-stage development pipeline. Blue Elephant Energy invests in and operates renewable power plants, while ABO Energy develops wind, solar, storage and hydrogen projects internationally. The 33 MW acquisition adds operating or construction-stage renewable capacity to Blue Elephant’s German portfolio and allows ABO Energy to recycle development capital into its wider project pipeline.

Potentia Sells 210 MW Golden South Wind Farm in Saskatchewan to Concord

Potentia Renewables has sold the 210 MW Golden South wind farm in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Concord Green Energy, the renewable-energy division of Concord Pacific. The completed transaction transfers a sizeable operating Canadian wind asset to a new owner. Golden South’s 210 MW capacity gives Concord an immediate utility-scale renewable generation position rather than a development-stage pipeline. Potentia has developed renewable assets across Canada, while Concord Green Energy is expanding its clean-power portfolio through acquisitions and project investment. The transaction provides Potentia with an opportunity to recycle capital from a mature wind asset while allowing Concord to increase operating renewable capacity.
