Convergent Energy and Power has commenced construction on a 3MW/9MWh utility-scale battery storage system for the West Boylston Municipal Light Plant (WBMLP) in Massachusetts. The system aims to stabilize electricity costs and enhance grid reliability by storing energy during low-cost, low-emission periods and discharging during peak demand. Convergent will finance, own, and operate the system, utilizing its PEAK IQ platform for optimization. Co-located with existing solar and flywheel assets, the project supports WBMLP’s goal of maintaining over 56 percent renewable energy sourcing.

Bidgely Achieves 1.5 TWh Energy Savings, Offsetting 1 Million Tons of CO₂ Emissions

Bidgely has announced that its AI-driven UtilityAI platform has achieved over 1.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) in energy savings, equivalent to offsetting more than 1 million metric tons of CO₂ emissions.
